Floralyn Rodriguez, laundry/linen attendant, Overall Mission & Values Award
This Ketchikan caregiver’s resourcefulness comes from personal experience.
Growing up in a large family in the Philippines taught Floralyn Rodriguez how to make the most of what she had.
Today, she brings these same skills to her work as a laundry/linen attendant at PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center in Alaska. Floralyn applies her creative thinking and attention to detail in many ways. From switching to long-lasting snaps instead of Velcro on the hospital's clothing protectors to hemming privacy curtains for reuse in new spaces, she turns everyday challenges into cost-saving wins.
“Floralyn treats the hospital as her home, so she’s very resourceful,” says Arlene Corroa, manager of Food/Environmental Services at PeaceHealth Ketchikan.
Thanks to Floralyn's dedication to her work and knack for finding ways to reuse hospital items instead of tossing them, she is the recipient of PeaceHealth’s 2025 overall systemwide Mission and Values Award.
