Chocolate, peanut butter and pretzel bites

Poppable sweet and salty treat.

A perfect blend of salty, sweet and crunchy. These pretzel bites are a great treat to enjoy while watching a movie or as a quick dessert.

Serves 20

Ingredients

  • ½ cup no added sugar creamy peanut butter
  • ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 40 unsalted whole wheat pretzel minis*
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling at the end, optional

Directions

In a small bowl, add peanut butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and maple syrup. Mix until well combined and thickened. Place in refrigerator for 10 minutes to set.

Line baking sheet with parchment paper and then make pairs of pretzels to start your bites.

Take your filling out of the refrigerator. With a ½ teaspoon measure, start to portion out the filling. Roll in your hand and press into the center of one of the pretzels, and then add the other pretzel on top. Repeat until all are done.

Heat your chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments. Stirring and reheating in 30 second increments until it’s melted.

Dip half of each pretzel bite into the chocolate. Sprinkle with optional salt. Let set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes and then enjoy.

*If unable to find unsalted pretzels, okay to sub regular pretzels just omit the salt at the end.
