Healthy You: Instant Pot Applesauce

Healthy two-ingredient recipe.

There is no added sugar and only two ingredients, apples and water, which will likely make this one of the easiest dishes in your recipe box. It may have the entire family asking for it for breakfast, a snack and dessert.

Serves 12-16

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds choice of apples (Red Delicious, Gala, etc.)
  • 2/3 cup water
  • Optional add-ins: Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, etc.

Directions

Peel, core and slice apples.

Place prepared apples and water in the Instant Pot® bowl. Secure lid to the locked position. The Instant Pot® should now light-up.

Ensure the pressure valve is in the “natural release” position. Press the button labeled “pressure cook” to high pressure. Allow the Instant Pot® to pressurize and cook for about 5 minutes.

After about 5 minutes, turn the Instant Pot® off and allow to sit. This will naturally release the pressure.

Once pressure is released, remove the lid and serve applesauce warm or place in the fridge.
