Dr. Albrich was raised in Silverton, Oregon and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Portland where he studied biology and chemistry. After spending the past four years in Utah, he is thrilled to return home to the PNW. Dr. Albrich is passionate about full-spectrum family practice with a particular interest in sports medicine. When not working, he loves spending time with his family, raising chickens, whitewater rafting, tide-pooling, and international travel.
Dr. Berglass is a native of the Northeast. She studied Neuroscience at Williams College, researched Neurotrauma in Boston and then attended PCOM before venturing out west. She is passionate about full spectrum family medicine with a particular interest in integrative medicine and lifestyle medicine. As an Osteopathic Physician she loves to integrate her osteopathic skills and mindset into patient care. Dr. Berglass enjoys yoga, meditation, hiking and cycling, especially when accompanied by her husband.
Dr. Box was raised in Spokane, WA and studied Plant Ecology at Middlebury College in Vermont. He spent several years small-scale vegetable farming in Colorado before returning to Washington to study medicine at UW. He is passionate about family medicine with specific interests in rural medicine, women’s health, and geriatrics. He enjoys gardening, rafting, working on his Spanish, and cooking with his wife, Kelsey.
Dr. Lavis grew up in the Pacific Northwest and completed every step of his education in the great state of Washington, including a major in biology at PLU in Tacoma. He has special interests in functional medicine, integrative medicine, prevention, ancestral living, and has a small obsession with maximizing human health span. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with his wife, Suzy.
Dr. Nomie is a Syrian American, born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He attended Reynolds High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science from Portland State University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and playing sports. Dr. Nomie is passionate about practicing full spectrum, family, and community oriented medicine, with special interests in pediatrics, sports medicine, and osteopathic manipulation.
Dr. Papenfuss was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Dixie State University where he played basketball and received a degree in Spanish. He found his passion for medicine and helping the underserved after living in northern Argentina for two years. He has a special interest in sports medicine, women’s health, and caring for the underprivileged. He enjoys playing basketball, golf, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Tremaine was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She received Honors Bachelor of Science degrees in both Radiation Health Physics and in Public Health from Oregon State University. Before returning to Portland for medical school, she worked as a Quality Improvement manager for healthcare practices in Oregon and Washington. Dr. Tremaine is passionate about full-spectrum family medicine, with a special interest in sports medicine and evidence-based preventative care. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Dan, and dog, Romo, as well as traveling, playing polo, snowboarding, and scrapbooking.
Dr. Abhold received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Boise State University (go Broncos!) She grew up in the Boise, Idaho area and went to medical school in Yakima, Washington. She is passionate about full-spectrum medicine with special interests in hospital medicine, pediatrics, maternal health, and preventative care. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, hiking, gardening, and running.
Dr. Aviles received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from Oregon State University. Dr. Aviles was born in Peru, has lived in many places, but has called the Pacific Northwest home for over a decade. He is passionate about full spectrum family medicine with a special interest in sports medicine, evidence-based preventative care and serving the underserved. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys learning new languages and new cultures. In his free time, he enjoys backcountry skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, fly fishing, backpacking and getting outdoors.
Dr. Cook received his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Brigham Young University, Provo. He has lived in New York, Washington, Utah, Virginia, Australia, and Oregon, but calls the Pacific Northwest home. Dr. Cook’s previous jobs have included working as a lifeguard, a civil engineering technician, a resident assistant, a laboratory research assistant, and an EMT. Dr. Cook is passionate about public health, rural medicine, and evidence-based preventive care. He and his wife have two children and one goldendoodle, and they enjoy hiking, camping, and going to the beach.
Dr. Kanev was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved to America when she was 18 years old. She initially came to Portland, Oregon, and has been living in the area ever since. Dr. Kanev received her Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University and her medical degree from OHSU. She is passionate about full-spectrum family medicine, women’s health, and preventative care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Kanev is passionate about spending time with her husband, Kay, and baby boy, Mika, doing outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, snowboarding, biking, walking the dogs, camping.
Dr Kotlyar received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from OHSU and worked as a RN before returning to OHSU for medical school. Although originally from Russia, she has been calling the PNW home since moving to the United States. Dr Kotlyar is passionate about mental health, culturally competent medicine, and rural medicine. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking and hiking, reading and theatre, as well as cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Mok was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and has had international learning experiences in South Africa and Japan. She is excited to pursue full-spectrum family medicine in the Pacific Northwest, with a particular interest in women’s health. She enjoys playing violin, attending live music performances, going to the beach, hiking, visiting art museums, and exploring new foods and cultures.
Dr. Parlee is a Portland native who received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Oregon and played goalkeeper for the varsity women’s soccer team. Her first career took her to Las Vegas where she taught 3 years of high school science as a Teach for America corps member. She returned home to Portland to pursue a career in medicine at OHSU. Dr. Parlee’s professional interests include medical education, sports medicine, and procedures. Outside of the hospital she is heavily involved in the Portland Metro soccer community through playing and coaching. She enjoys DIY projects, cycling, and hanging out with her amazing and joyful nieces.
Dr. Rofelty was raised in Silverton, Oregon, and earned a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from George Fox University. She spent two years working at the Knight Cancer Institute in leukemia research before moving to Philadelphia to attend medical school at Temple University. Dr. Rofelty is passionate about full-spectrum family practice and research in primary care. When not at work, she loves hiking, camping, spending time with her family, and discovering new spots in Portland. She is thrilled to be continuing her medical training at home in the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Folkers was raised here in Vancouver Washington and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington State University – Vancouver. Before medical school she spent time working at PeaceHealth Southwest in the lab and volunteering at The Free Clinic of SW Washington. Medical school took her to Yakima and she is excited to return home to complete her training. Dr. Folkers is passionate about full-spectrum family practice, women’s health and rural medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, paddle boarding, and fly fishing.
Dr. Hung was originally from Taiwan and moved to the United States just before high school. He received his bachelors degree from Claremont McKenna College majoring in “Science and Management” with a focus in Chemistry. After studying in Southern California and Washington, DC, Dr. Hung is thrilled to continue his medical training back in the Pacific Northwest. He is passionate about full-spectrum family medicine with interests in sports, geriatrics, procedural, and military medicine as well as the role of spirituality in medicine. Outside of work, he likes the outdoors, fitness, friends, country music, and history!
Dr. Ma grew up in Plano, Texas and studied business at the University of Texas at Austin. He worked for a consulting firm for two years before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated medical school from UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, where he developed a passion for preventative care, behavioral health, and helping underserved populations. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, hiking, cooking, and hanging out with his wife, family, and friends.
Dr. Miller was born in Nevada and graduated with an Honors degree in Nutritional Sciences. She felt the call to medicine while volunteering with a physician during a medical missionary program and has been passionate about global health, rural medicine, and serving the underserved ever since. She also really enjoys lifestyle and integrative medicine and hopes to start her own clinic one day with these principles in mind. Prior to entering medical school, she spent two years working as a snowboard instructor, and is elated to be moving to the Pacific Northwest to explore all of the majestic hikes, lakes, and scenery it has to offer.
Dr. O’Brien is originally from Sacramento, California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis. He spent a few years working as a tandem skydiving instructor, EMT, and emergency department scribe before moving to sunny Tucson, Arizona for medical school. Dr. O’Brien has a particular interest in preventative care, nutrition, and sports medicine. In his free time he enjoys vegetable gardening, hiking, kayaking, jumping from planes, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their energetic black lab, Lily.
Dr. Maggie Santos is native to the Twin Cities of MN where she developed her passion for cultural studies and healthcare. Her work as an RN inspired her to pursue medicine at the University of Queensland/ Ochsner Clinical school, a program based in Brisbane and New Orleans. She met her husband Justin along the way, with whom she is excited to continue her study of Family Medicine. Her professional interests are Addiction and care for Spanish-speakers. Maggie also loves to dance, write, and enjoy quiet time.
Dr. Sontra was born and raised in Everett, Washington. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University while playing football there. After college, he discovered his passion for full spectrum family medicine while working as a medical scribe. He has special interests in sports medicine, emergency medicine and procedures. In his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, hunting, exercising, watching football and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Thomas grew up in Edmonds, WA and received a Bachelor’s of Science in biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. Following graduation, she worked as a CNA in a nursing home where she developed a great respect for Interprofessional medicine. Dr. Thomas ventured to Connecticut for medical school at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine where she was inspired by many incredible role models in family medicine. She is passionate about interprofessionalism, addiction medicine, and healthcare for the homeless. On a rainy day Dr. Thomas loves listening to podcasts like This American Life and experimenting with new recipes. Otherwise, you'll find her enjoying the outdoors, gardening, or working on her latest DIY project.
