U.S. News & World Report recently recognized PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center as among the top hospitals in Washington.
The magazine ranked St. Joseph the eighth-best regional hospital in Washington. It was high performing in 13 procedures/conditions. For conditions related to cancer, it was ranked as high performing in surgeries for colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer.
It was also high performing in aortic valve surgery, heart arrhythmia, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and heart bypass surgery, among others.
“This recognition, and others like it, are a testament to our caregivers, physicians and clinicians," said Northwest Chief Executive Chuck Prosper. "Their commitment to delivering exceptional care to our patients and communities is evident.”
An overall rating of High Performing indicates a hospital was significantly better than the national average in a given procedure or condition. In the 2026-2027 ratings, U.S. News rated more than 4,200 hospitals for procedures and conditions. The 2026-2027 assessment covers 14 different specialties. Nearly 4,500 hospitals were initially evaluated with 2,040 meeting strict eligibility standards.
This recognition comes on the heels of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center receiving its 13th consecutive ‘A’ grade on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades website earlier this spring.
