VANCOUVER, Wash. – PeaceHealth recently unveiled its 2025 systemwide Mission and Values Award recipients. The annual awards recognize inspiring employees (who PeaceHealth refers to as “caregivers”) who live PeaceHealth’s Mission and Values of Respect, Social Justice, Collaboration and Stewardship, every day.
Charanya Sivaramakrishnan, MD, intensive care unit medical director, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, was selected for the Respect award. Jeremy Weintraub, supply chain contracts manager, PeaceHealth System Services in Vancouver, was selected for the Stewardship award.
Weintraub grew up hearing his grandmother's stories about being a doctor in rural Kentucky, where patients had little access to medical care. His focus on devoting resources to patient care is bringing his family's legacy full circle, and his diligence in getting the best prices for hospital supplies like gloves, bandages, artificial knees and X-ray equipment saved PeaceHealth more than $40 million last year.
"That's money that we can reinvest into our communities," said Weintraub. "Money that we are able to put back into making new facilities, helping provide care in new locations and better services.” This commitment to finding ways to save is one of the reasons he is a recipient of PeaceHealth’s 2025 systemwide Mission and Values Award for Stewardship.
As a critical care doctor, Dr. Sivaramakrishnan sees vulnerable patients every day and is known for her compassionate care. When her mother was bedridden due to cancer, she learned that giving patients time and space to talk — and truly listening — was the most meaningful way to show up for them.
Seeing how her patients respond to adversity gives Dr. Sivaramakrishnan faith in humanity. “When folks are really vulnerable, they’re actually far more kind, courageous and accepting than we think people are,” she says. This deep respect for patients and belief in humanity's goodness is why Dr. Sivaramakrishnan is the recipient of PeaceHealth’s 2025 systemwide Mission and Values Award for Respect.
The Mission and Values Awards are PeaceHealth's highest honor. They recognize caregivers for living PeaceHealth’s Mission and Values of Social Justice, Stewardship, Respect and Collaboration. Weintraub and Dr. Sivaramakrishnan were selected amidst 16,000 caregivers spread across Alaska, Washington, and Oregon, and were honored during a virtual celebration held in July.
