PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center nationally recognized with an ‘A’ for the spring 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Longview, Wash. – PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center was awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a distinction recognizing PeaceHealth St. John’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“Providing safe, high-quality care is at the heart of our Mission,” said Cherelle Montanye, PeaceHealth St. John Chief Administrative Officer . “We’ve continued to face challenges in healthcare, but our caregivers and physicians never waiver from their commitment of providing safe, exceptional care to our community every day.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
