The acronym B-E F-A-S-T can help you quickly recognize the symptoms of a stroke and what to do.

A stroke cuts off the blood supply to the brain. The sooner you recognize the symptoms of a stroke, the sooner life-saving and brain-saving treatment can be given.

Here are the signs to watch for and what to do:

  • B - sudden loss of balance
  • E - sudden change or loss of any vision
  • F - facial unevenness or drooping
  • A - arm or leg weakness
  • S - speech difficulty
  • T - it's time to call 9-1-1!

 The chart below can help you determine if someone could be experiencing a stroke. If so, please, don't wait. Call 9-1-1.
