St. Joseph Medical Center is committed to providing Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities that support our community physicians and health care professionals in promoting personal and community health. Our primary audience includes medical staff, community physicians and clinicians. Our secondary audience includes PeaceHealth Northwest medical staff and community physicians in Southeast Alaska, San Juan, Skagit and Island counties, and health professionals working cooperatively with physicians to improve personal and community health.

Our CME Program’s primary target audience is the medical staff of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center and community providers. Our secondary audience includes PeaceHealth Northwest medical staff and community providers in Southeast Alaska, San Juan, Skagit and Island counties, and interprofessional health team members working cooperatively with physicians to deliver personal and community health care.

The St. Joseph CME program addresses professional practice gaps by providing evidence-based education designed to improve physician competence, performance and/or patient outcomes*. The program achieves this by:
*Many resources are used to support the needed level of change, including but not limited to: peer review referrals, quality initiatives, department or committee requests, referrals from the Professional Practice Evaluation Committee, best practice or protocol changes, and current medical literature review, among other credible data sources.
