Program Director

Dr. deWeber has been practicing Family Medicine since 1995 and Sports Medicine since 2001 and has cared for elite athletes around the world. He is on the Team USA Olympic medical staff for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as Medical Director of the High Performance Training Center clinic. He is a nationally renowned instructor of Sports Ultrasound and is Course Director of AMSSM’s “west coast” ultrasound courses. He certified as a Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer the first time ARDMS offered the RMSK® certification in 2011.  In his 25 years of active Army service he was Team Physician for the Army World Class Athlete Program, was the Medical Consultant for U.S. Armed Forces Sports including participating in two Military World Games (India 2007, Brazil 2011), and cared for Warrior Athletes for 1 year in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was Program Director of the country’s largest sports medicine fellowship (National Capitol Consortium’s military program) for 6 years and graduated 24 of his own fellows, and he coordinated the didactic curriculum of three other civilian fellowships. He currently provides care at professional boxing and MMA events and is the Clark College Team Physician. Dr. deWeber is full-time Faculty at the Family Medicine of SW Washington Residency.

Jerod Cottrill, DO, RMSK

Dr. Cottrill has been practicing Physiatry since 2003 and Sports Medicine since 2004. He is on the US Ski and Snowboard Association medical pool and has cared for elite athletes around the world. He is a consulting physician for Portland Trailblazers basketball, Portland Winterhawks hockey, Portland State University, and Concordia University. He is fellowship trained in both Sports Medicine and Interventional Spine, is certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, and teaches Sports Ultrasound around the country. He has been named as a Top Doctor numerous years in Portland Monthly Magazine and works full-time at the prestigious Rebound Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Clinic in Vancouver, WA.

Orthopedic sports medicine faculty

Dr. DaSilva has been practicing Orthopedic Sports Medicine since 2008. He is a consulting physician for the Portland Winterhawks hockey team and Clark College and cares for the Canadian National Ski Team. During his sports medicine fellowship he cared for athletes with Chicago Bulls basketball, Chicago White Sox baseball, Chicago Bandits softball, Chicago Steel hockey, United States Under-17 Women’s National Soccer Team, and DePaul University basketball. He works full-time at the prestigious Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery Clinic in Vancouver, WA.

Primary care sports medicine (emergency medicine) faculty

Dr. Schlueter has been practicing sports medicine for many years, first as an athletic trainer, and now as an Emergency Medicine physician. After serving as Team Physician at Univ. of Texas, she moved to Oregon and has been the Head Team Physician for University of Portland since 2009. She is on the U.S. Olympic medical team and provided care for U.S. athletes at the 2012 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia; the U.S. athletes at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil; at the 2011 PanAm Games in Mexico; and at the 2013 and 2015 Paralympic Track & Field World Championships in France and Qatar.  In 2014 she joined the USA women’s National Ice Hockey medical team.

Dr. Lowell was the first graduate of the SW Washington fellowship and has been practicing Family Medicine and Sports Medicine since 2016. His interests include boxing and MMA, steelhead fishing, and gardening.
