Newly remodeled 8th floor opens to patients

Longview, Wash. – PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center is proud to announce the completion of the 8th floor renovation, the last floor of the tower restoration project.

“We thank the many donors in our community whose investment in our “Take it to the Top” fundraising campaign made this renovation possible,” said Amy Leggio, Executive Director, PeaceHealth St. John Foundation. “This will provide a reimagined care experience for patients, providing them modernized, private rooms on our top floor.”

The caregiver-designed unit contains 20 new private rooms with colors and patterns that echo the Pacific Northwest’s beautiful environment, while also promoting a sense of comfort and healing. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art patient care technology and furnishings.

The 8th floor will also be home to the hospital’s successful Orthopedic Joint Replacement and Fracture Programs, including a large, renovated space dedicated to pre-op orthopedic exercise classes, group physical therapy and patient discharge instructions aided by modernized audiovisual technology capabilities.

“This renovation reinforces our commitment to this community of providing quality care every day in an optimal healing environment,” shares Wendy Dennis, Chief Nursing Officer.

The 8th floor will officially open for the care of medical and surgical patients on Oct. 25.
