VANCOUVER, Wash. – PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center recently earned recognition as a Leader in Patient Safety Improvement from the Oregon Patient Safety Commission.
The honor was presented March 15, during the eighth-annual Oregon Patient Safety Event in Portland.
This was the first time the OPSC presented this award, which recognizes healthcare organizations in Oregon that have made innovations in patient safety or spread effective patient safety practices in 2018.
“Our caregivers and providers have embraced a culture of safety at Peace Harbor, which encourages them to speak up if they see any potential safety issues, and work together to find a solution that will help ensure that we provide the best possible care for our patients,” said Jason Hawkins, chief administrative officer. “I am so proud of their hard work and commitment. We are honored to receive this award.”
Peace Harbor also received a nod during the event for exceeding OPSC’s Patient Safety Reporting Program targets.
