As you get older, your reflexes slow down and you lose strength in your muscles.

And that can make you more likely to fall.

Here's an exercise that's a great way to get your core muscles in shape.

You can do this exercise before you get out of bed in the morning.

While you're still lying down, try lifting each leg straight up off the bed, then putting it back down.

Do this one leg at a time, 5 times each at first, and gradually build up to 10 times with each leg.

Taking the time to do some strength and balance exercises every day can help you stay active and independent.
