How to recognize the symptoms of a stroke and what to do next.

A stroke blocks blood flow to the brain. Quick action can save brain function and a life.

Watch for these warning signs of stroke:

  • B – Balance: sudden trouble with balance or coordination  
  • E – Eyes: sudden vision changes or loss of vision  
  • F – Face: one side of the face droops or looks uneven  
  • A – Arm (or leg): weakness or numbness, especially on one side  
  • S – Speech: slurred or hard-to-understand speech  
  • T – Time: call 9-1-1 right away

If you notice any of these signs, do not wait. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
