Use fresh ingredients to easily add zing to your holiday table.

Cranberry relish complements any holiday meal with a bright red pop of color and zesty flavor. This recipe shows how easy it is to make it from scratch using fresh ingredients. What's even better is that cranberries don't just look and taste good...they're also packed with nutrients.

6 (1/2 cup) servings

Ingredients:

  • 10-16 ounce bag of fresh/frozen cranberries (~3-4 cups)
  • 1/4 granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup can crushed pineapple or 1 cup finely chopped fresh pineapple
  • 2 Cutie or Halo oranges finely chopped with rinds on

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until cranberries pop. As this happens, the mixture will naturally thicken. Once cranberries have popped, transfer to a bowl and cover and refrigerate until cold then serve. This can be made in advance and refrigerated.
