Though he has overcome the odds, he continues to come up against daily challenges, but his strength and perseverance have inspired us all. Our story
On Thursday morning, May 20th 2021, our lives took an unexpected turn that was extremely brutal, and unimaginably hard. We constantly reflect on the tragic event that changed our trajectory and lives forever.
As we navigate the unscripted path of traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery, we find ourselves blessed with a new perspective, lessons we couldn't have imagined, and a deep well of gratitude for the faith that promises triumph over tragedy.
Now, we feel compelled to give back to the place that played a pivotal role in saving Bob's life —PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. We've witnessed firsthand the genuine care, compassion, and innovation of the incredible caregivers who guided us through this arduous journey. In honor of this commitment, we are excited to announce the creation of the "Bob & Michelle Cross Rehab Endowment."
This endowment will support and elevate inpatient rehab at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, growing a resource that offers more to people suffering from TBI and other life-altering injuries and illnesses. In addition, we hope to be able to fund the purchase of the BITS System before the end of the year. This is an integrated therapy tool that was instrumental in Bob’s recovery at Craig Hospital, and we want to bring it to our community.
