Members of PeaceHealth’s Executive Team embrace a leadership model fully rooted in our Mission and Values and in our heritage as a Catholic health care ministry. This model guides our leaders in every aspect of their work and oversight responsibilities. It challenges us to relentlessly pursue improvements in patient outcomes and service to patients and families while awakening joy, meaning and purpose in the human spirit.

Liz Dunne
President and Chief Executive Officer

Liz is a registered dietitian and holds a master’s degree in Business and Computer Resource Management. Prior to joining PeaceHealth, she served as community chief executive officer for Providence Health & Services in South Bay, Calif. After 10 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force, Liz served 10 years in the reserves, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. She is the first lay woman leader of the PeaceHealth system and is committed to our legacy of enabling the well-being of communities.

Carol Aaron
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

Carol’s deeply held commitment to community health as well as her passion for organizational and talent development is backed by her experience, working with high performing teams in not-for-profit health systems. With more than 30 years in healthcare, she has helped launch initiatives to improve governance, leadership and organizational development to advance a culture of high engagement in the communities she’s served. She earned a bachelor’s in Labor Studies from San Francisco State and a master’s in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco.

Richard DeCarlo
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Richard has more than 25 years of progressive, not-for-profit, mission-based healthcare leadership experience in hospital and clinic operations and strategic development. He brings a deep understanding of healthcare operations, clinical excellence and community health and wellness to PeaceHealth. The epitome of a servant leader, Richard has robust experience in senior administrative roles as well as clinical experience. Most recently, he served as COO of the University of California, San Francisco’s Benioff Children’s Hospital in the San Francisco Bay area.

Michael Dwyer
Executive Vice President, Strategy and Community Health

Mike offers more than 30 years of leadership experience in the health care industry. He’s worked with major health care clients across the country, helping them grow and transform to meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry. Mike oversees PeaceHealth’s strategy, business development, philanthropy, community benefit and health, and strategic joint alliances and health ventures. Bringing these groups together enables greater collaboration between PeaceHealth and our community partners.

Kimberly Hodgkinson
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Kimberly has a proven background as a Catholic health care financial executive leader. She’s also an advocate of community health improvement programs and a longtime proponent of community benefit programs. She has helped launch initiatives that improved access to high quality care in the communities where she has served. She holds joint master's degrees from Western Michigan University: an MBA in finance and an MA in nuclear physics.

Dianna Kielian
Senior Vice President of Mission, Theology and Ethics

Dianna Kielian is a dynamic, innovative leader, with a focus on implementing values integration programs, and nurturing a deeper understanding of our Catholic identity in serving the most vulnerable. She brings more than 35 years of experience building and strengthening the missions and core values at not-for-profit healthcare systems. This includes nearly two decades of service with CHI Franciscan Health in Tacoma, Wash. As PeaceHealth’s senior vice president of Mission, Theology and Ethics, she leads system-wide ministry efforts in support of our strategic initiatives, while helping to safeguard our unique culture and commitment to our Mission and Values. In addition to her work in healthcare, Dianna is also an avid community volunteer, having served on a variety of non-profit boards and foundations.

Ron Saxton
Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Ron brings a wealth of strategic experience, wisdom and judgment to PeaceHealth. Having previously worked at the law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, he has specialized in corporate strategy counsel as well as transactional, regulatory and financial guidance. Ron is a native Oregonian and is highly regarded throughout the Pacific Northwest because of his inherent mission-based interest in public service. In addition to his 2006 candidacy for governor in his home state, Ron’s commitment to the public good includes service as president of the Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges and Universities, as a member of the Oregon Public Broadcasting Board of Directors, as founding president of the Portland Schools Foundation, and much more.

Susan Bruechner
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Susan is passionate about upholding the PeaceHealth Mission and Values by safeguarding a culture that embraces inclusion, fairness, justice and equity. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Susan leads mission-driven strategies designed to support the overall growth of PeaceHealth’s dedicated 16,000 caregivers. She and her team are instrumental in PeaceHealth’s transformational journey toward creating the healthiest communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. Prior to PeaceHealth, Susan spent eight years with Goldman Sachs. She holds an MBA from Marylhurst University, a BA from Texas A&M and is a graduate of Ministry Leadership Center.

Steve Glenn
Senior Vice President, Governance and Support Services

Steve first joined PeaceHealth as vice president for information systems technology governance, bringing with him more than 15 years in health care project management in the Portland/Vancouver area. Steve holds a BS in Chemistry from Portland State University, as well as Project Management Institute training. Steve appreciates the diverse talents of PeaceHealth caregivers, who all come together to deliver compassionate care.

Sean Gregory
Chief Executive, Columbia Network

Sean has more than 16 years of proven health care executive leadership experience, which includes an impressive track record of developing and implementing strategy, creating growth opportunities and delivering results. He has consistently demonstrated success in working within large faith-based health care systems to grow hospital services and improve patient experience. Prior to joining PeaceHealth, he served as CEO of Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Victoria King
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Victoria is board certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced, holds master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration and Nursing, and is a co-founder of the Global Nursing Conference. She is known for creating strong and enduring nursing collaboration with physicians, patients and the communities we serve. Originally from California, she was drawn to PeaceHealth for the chance to create a successful nursing practice architecture across the system.

Mike Metcalf
Chief Executive, PeaceHealth Medical Group

Mike brings more than 25 years in both non-profit and for-profit health care administration and leadership, including serving as Executive Vice President, Clinical Operations for Essentia Health East Region, Duluth; and COO for Ministry Medical Group in Wisconsin. He specializes in Lean Six Sigma management principles in healthcare, and holds an MBA from Lake Superior State University, Mich.

Dale Zender
Chief Executive, Northwest Network

Dale has more than 30 years at PeaceHealth in Washington and Alaska, including Vice President of PeaceHealth Medical Group, CAO, CFO and COO positions. He was named the 2015 Business Person of the Year by the Whatcom Business Alliance. He was also the 2011 "John Tiscornia Award" recipient, honoring outstanding leadership, stewardship and exemplification of PeaceHealth Values. Dale is a Washington State Board of Accountancy CPA, and has an MBA from City University in Seattle, as well as Advanced Training Program in Healthcare Delivery Improvement.
