About St. John

Dedicated to Exceptional Medicine and Compassionate Care

All of the caregivers at PeaceHealth work to ensure that every patient receives safe, evidence-based, compassionate care - every time, every touch.

The videos below will give you some insight to what we offer:

Friends of St. John

The St. John Medical Center Auxiliary was formed in June 1987 when Monticello Medical Center and St. John's Hospital merged, combining the Monticello Medical Center's Auxiliary with the St. John's Guild.

In 2001 the group voted to change their name to the Friends of St. John. This change was made to promote greater interest of healthcare needs in our community.

Mission Statement

The Mission of this organization shall be to assist St. John, in accordance with it's Mission and Core Values, by working toward improvement of patient care in providing services and financial contributions as approved by our membership.

Purpose

Our purpose of the Friends is to assist PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, a nonprofit organization, to better serve the community. The Friends intend to achieve this overall purpose by:

  • Raising funds for the provision of patient care through proceeds from the Gift Shop, Terrace Espresso and other projects.
  • Maintaining a scholarship program designed to encourage individuals to pursue careers in the healthcare field.
  • Serve as ambassadors and advocates for St. John Medical Center.

The Gift Shop is operated by the Friends of St. John and is staffed by volunteers seven days a week. Located on the ground floor of the PeaceHealth Professional Building in the main lobby area, the shop offers an outstanding collection of boutique items. All profits from the Gift Shop are used to support the medical center and fund healthcare scholarships.

In the spring of 2000 the PeaceHealth Professional Building opened. The Friends of St. John were given the wonderful opportunity to create and establish the Terrace Espresso coffee shop. It's prime location overlooking the main lobby and "Cross of the Millennium" provides the perfect setting for employees, patients, and family members to relax and enjoy their favorite beverage. Profits from the Starbuck coffee items and unique treats enhance the Friends Scholarship Fund and other projects sponsored by the Friends of St. John.
