Patrick Cawneen PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Patrick earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy from University of Dayton in Ohio. Patrick is a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), a movement-based diagnostic system. Patrick's clinical areas of interest include treating patients with orthopedic impairments of the spine and extremities along with vestibular dysfunctions. Patrick also enjoys treating athletes as he has experience woking with professional baseball players. A Cleveland native, Patrick is a devoted follower of Cleveland sports, and also enjoys spending time with his family and in the outdoors.

Rebecca earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Pacific University, 2006.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Recreation Park and Leisure studies from the University of Minnesota, 2000 and was certified as a Recreational Therapist.  Her treating interests include; patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, shoulder, spine, hip and knee injuries.  She believes in using a hands on treatment approach combining manual therapy with goal specific exercise to assist patient’s in achieving their highest level of function. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and kids.  Her interests also include running, gardening, hiking and road cycling.

Chris earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Eastern Washington University in 2006.  His undergraduate degree, in Exercise and Sport Science, was completed at the University of Wyoming.  Chris earned the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation in 2004.  Additionally, Chris earned his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification in 2010.  Areas of clinical interest include treating the hip, knee, shoulder, spine, and running and jump sports medicine programs.

Joyce Masters, PT, CLT
Physical Therapist/Clinical Specialist
Joyce earned her degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Oklahoma, Health Sciences Center in 1988.  Since then, Joyce has practiced physical therapy in a variety of settings, which have included neuro-trauma in Colorado, sports/orthopedics with the United States Army/Air Force in Germany and orthopedics in Arizona.  Joyce moved to Vancouver in 2003 with her husband and has been working in our outpatient orthopedics department since.  Joyce is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and holds a Level III CAPA rating in Pelvic Floor disorders.  Joyce is passionate about treating people with breast cancer, lymphedema, pelvic floor disorders.  In her free time, Joyce enjoys activities with her husband, participating in Krav Maga, gardening and reading.

Sarah Sureck, PT, DPT

Sarah earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.  Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Pre-Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton in Dayton, OH. Sarah is a member of the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. Her clinical interests include treating patients with orthopedic impairments of the shoulder and neck as well as patients with balance deficits. Additionally, she is part of the multidisciplinary team at PeaceHealth Southwest devoted to rehabilitating patients recovering from sport-related concussions. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, and traveling.
Darin Swan, PT, CSCS

Darin earned his Physical Therapy degree at Arcadia University in 1998.  He completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Pacific Lutheran University in 1993, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and certified foot orthotic clinician.  Darin is studying for his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification.  His treating interests include:  shoulders, knees, hips and spine injuries, returning to biking, running and golf after injury, and occupational medicine.  In his free time, Darin enjoys biking, golfing, hiking, fishing and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Hillary Teeley, PT, DPT, CLT
Physical Therapist
Hillary grew up in Vancouver. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy with specialty training in evaluation, diagnosing, and treatment under the MSI (Movement System Impairments) model. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. Hillary is the current leader and co-founder of Vancouver’s chapter of Physical Therapy Night Out through the American Physical Therapy Association. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, exploring restaurants in Portland, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Sai Tan, PT, DPT

Sai received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013 from University of Washington. Previous to that Sai obtained his Bachelors of Science from Western Washington University in 2001 in Business Marketing and Psychology minor. He is currently working towards gaining a certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT). He is married with one daughter. He enjoys playing tennis, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Katie Wood, PT, DPT, CLT

Katie is a Vancouver native who earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University in Denver, CO in 2010.  She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington, where she rowed 4 years on the Women's Crew Team.  Katie’s clinical interests include treating men and women with pelvic floor dysfunction, breast cancer and lymphedema, and patients with spine, hip, and knee injuries.  She enjoys doing community outreach and sharing her passion for physical therapy and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Katie strives to help her patients achieve their optimal function by meeting them where they are and developing a plan of care to address their specific needs.  Her hobbies include spending time with her family, road cycling, playing soccer, snowboarding, hiking, and learning to cook.

Julie earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Mt. Hood Community College in June, 2008.  She came from a group fitness and personal trainer background and is currently an active VBC road cyclist.  Julie’s treating interests include Oncology/Breast Cancer, Lymphedema, Orthopedics, and Weight Loss Guidance.  She enjoys spending time with her children, cycling, running, and the outdoors.

Karl is a native of the state of Maine, and graduated from the University of Vermont with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1981. For most of his career, he has worked in the Northwest, and is currently working at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center’s outpatient physical therapy clinic at Fisher’s Landing in Vancouver Washington and resides in Portland, Oregon. He completed his certification in Manual Therapy with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy [NAIOMT] in 1997 and gained his OCS in the same year. In 2000, he completed his Fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. He met his wife, Judy Spaniol Turner PT, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT taking NAIOMT classes, and they have two children. Karl is a Clinical Fellowship Instructor and an Examiner with NAIOMT.  His hobbies include woodworking, hiking, and skiing.

Judy Sills, PT

Judy Sills, MS, PT earned her B.S.P.T. degree at the University of North Dakota in 1980, received manual therapy certification in 1987 through the Kaiser Hayward Residency in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy with a strong Maitland/Australian base, returned as clinical faculty 1990-1997, and received a Masters of Health Science degree at San Francisco State University in 1994.  In her free time, Judy enjoys time with family (three children, dogs and cats), playing piano, singing, baking, gardening, hiking and camping.

Melissa Newcombe, PT, DPT

Melissa received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Puget Sound in 2010. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Portland where she earned a B.S. in Life Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Melissa’s physical therapy post-degree coursework has focused on treatment musculoskeletal disorders with an emphasis on manual therapy coupled with corrective exercise to address the root cause of injury. She has received manual therapy training with the Institute of Physical Art, specializing in visceral mobilization for digestive disorders and post-surgical abdominal adhesions. Her other physical therapy focus is on Pilates training for rehabilitation purposes. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys exercising, hiking, camping, cake decorating, and teaching baking classes.

Morgan Gilpin-King, OTD, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Morgan earned a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2010 and later obtained a post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree in 2014, both through Pacific University.  She is the primary therapist at PHSW Outpatient Neuro Rehab for completing community mobility evaluations for the neurologically impaired and aging populations.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, hiking, going to the Oregon Coast, wakeboarding and boating in the summer, and skiing in the winter.

Lisa earned her Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985.  As a seasoned therapist she enjoys treating all neurological patients.  She has special interests in treating clients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, vestibular issues, post-concussive syndrome.  She has specialized training in treating stroke victims, vestibular patients, patients who have balance and fall related problems,  and those with specialized wheelchair seating needs.  Her interests outside of work include running, cycling, hiking, reading, cooking, traveling, pursuing investments and spending time with her spouse and friends.

Ann earned a Combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1993 through Western Michigan University.  She is the Lead Therapist in OP Neuro Rehabilitation and Clinical Specialist in Low Vision. Ann has developed the PHSW Vision programs for Neurological Changes and Low Vision and has taught courses throughout the NW and California since 2005. She also specializes in hemiparetic upper extremities focusing on Post-Botox treatment for spasticity. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family: camping, hiking, doing cross-stitch, touring National parks and going to Disneyland.

Nicole is a third generation Southwest Washington Medical Center employee and has been with Southwest for more than 15 years.  As the manager of outpatient therapy services Nicole fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration, leading by example to inspire her team to pursue excellence. Her goal is to earn the loyalty and trust of the Southwest Washington community by being the therapy provider of choice.  In her spare time Nicole enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters.
