Healthcare Reimagined

A community achievement

In moments of crisis, we discover the true spirit of community.

It shows up in caregivers who answer the call at all hours. In neighbors who support one another. And in generous donors who believe everyone deserves safe, compassionate care when they need it most.

Today, that belief is realized.

The Healthcare Reimagined Campaign was designed with two phases of construction — with a clear goal: to double the size of the Emergency Department and improve how care is delivered, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Now, with the opening of Phase II on February 4, 2026, construction of the new Emergency Department at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is complete. What started as a bold vision to reimagine care is now a powerful reality for Southwest Washington — made possible by philanthropy and the trust of this community.

A major milestone

This achievement reflects years of thoughtful planning, partnership and shared commitment. Phase I, completed in summer 2024, introduced a modern registration and waiting area and the innovative Community Health Hub.

Phase II completed the full expansion — bringing all emergency services together in one modern, thoughtfully designed space built to serve a growing region.

Because of donor support, the former Emergency Department has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility featuring:

  • More than 37,000 square feet of expanded care space
  • 77 treatment rooms
  • 5 trauma rooms
  • 7 ambulance ports
  • 72 new parking spaces
  • Dedicated spaces for healing and respite

Serving more than 82,000 patients each year, the expanded Emergency Department strengthens our ability to deliver timely, compassionate care — now and in the future.

Gratitude that built something lasting

Healthcare Reimagined is, at its heart, a community achievement.

Through the largest fundraising effort in Clark County history, generous donors contributed $74.9 million to make this project possible. Philanthropy accounts for more than half of the total cost — a clear sign of the trust our community has placed in PeaceHealth.

This campaign was never just about construction. It was about people.

It was about giving families more privacy during difficult moments.

It was about making sure trauma patients receive lifesaving care close to home.

It was about creating a space where caregivers can focus fully on each person.

It was about choosing to meet today’s challenges with courage and compassion.

Built together. Ready for tomorrow.

As Southwest Washington continues to grow, so does the need for emergency care. Healthcare Reimagined ensures that PeaceHealth Southwest is ready — not just for today, but for the years ahead.

Every treatment room and every trauma bay reflects the generosity of thousands of individuals, families and organizations who believe in whole-person care.

To every donor who gave, led and believed in this vision: thank you.

Because of you, emergency care in Southwest Washington has been transformed.

Because of you, caregivers are better supported.

Because of you, patients and families will receive care that is more connected, more compassionate and more responsive to their needs.

Together, we have built something extraordinary — and together, we will continue building a healthier future for our community.
