Celebrating the Doctors whose care fuels philanthropy across PeaceHealth Communities
Honoring the caregivers whose skill, compassion, and dedication fuels philanthropy and strengthens the well-being of those we serve
There is a quiet that settles in the moments before a doctor steps into the room. It is the quiet of wondering, wishing and waiting for someone who can help carry what feels too heavy to hold alone. Doctor’s Day gives us a moment to honor the hope, compassion and generosity a doctor’s presence brings into our lives.
Because of them, uncertainty loosens its grip, fear is met with knowledge and we have the reassurance of someone who will walk with us through whatever comes.
“Everything will be alright. You will not face this alone!”
Simple words, yet in the most vulnerable chapters of a person’s life, they can hold more weight than we ever expect. In our Oregon, Northwest and Southwest Communities, physicians from every specialty carry clarity and hope into exam rooms, surgical suites and bedside conversations. Their work shapes how our communities experience healing. These acts ripple outward. They support families. They strengthen communities. And they inspire generosity in ways that can be felt for years.
For many, gratitude becomes action. A physician’s compassion often sparks the first impulse to give back. Patients become long-term donors because of the care they or their loved ones receive. A doctor’s service remains foundational to PeaceHealth’s Mission, touching not only the patient but parents, children, friends and entire circles of people who carry that kindness forward.
One caregiver shared that during her mother’s fight with breast cancer, it was the doctors who helped her believe she would make it through. They became the source of strength she could not find on her own. Stories like hers are woven throughout our communities, each one reminding us of the quiet power physicians hold and the generosity they inspire.
Below are real expressions of gratitude from across our communities. These voices reflect the lasting impact of physicians whose compassion and skill change lives every day.
Oregon Community
Sacred Heart Medical Center (To: Dr. Sweeney Banerjee, Katherine, Jennifer and total care team) -Thank you all of you. I am a grateful man! Your care was magical! I feel great. Did not this time last year!
Cottage Grove (To: all of them) – We came from Roseburg. PeaceHealth is miles ahead. I don’t want to think what would happen if we stayed in Roseburg. Keep fighting the good fight!
Peace Harbor - These people continue to always be there for me and my husband who passed Sept 17,2024. We donate in both our names, for he is always with me. “Wayne in spirit.” They all work at the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. They deserve their wings and much more. We appreciate all they do.
Northwest Community
Whatcom Hospice (To : All caregiver’s of Hospice) – Thank you for all the love and care provided to my mom during her last days of life here on earth! God Bless You!
St. Joseph Medical Center (To: Dr. David J Droullard) - I am recovering beautifully. Thank you for everything you did. I am able to live in my home!
United General (To: Dr. Navdeep Sangha) - Thank you so much for calming my fears during this difficult time.
Ketchikan Medical Center (To: Dr. Andrew D. Pankow) - Thank you for taking care of us and you really listen when we explain our health.
Columbia Community
Southwest Medical Center (To: Dr. Neil Mistry) - I can’t tell you how grateful I am for you getting this old body running again. I thought I was a goner for sure, but you fixed me.
St. John Medical Center (To: PeaceHealth leadership and staff) - I am writing to express my profound gratitude and to specifically commend the team at the PeaceHealth Longview Emergency Department for the extraordinary care I received on October 1st.
My visit was the most critical I’ve experienced. As a person with diabetes, I suffered a severe hypoglycemic episode, falling to a very low blood glucose level that caused me to become unconscious while swimming at the Longview YMCA. The swift and expert aid I received was, simply put, lifesaving and led to my quick and complete recovery.
I wish to recognize and thank the following individuals whose names I recall, as they represent the professionalism, compassion, and dedication of your entire team:
- Dr. Andria Jones
- Dr. Mohamad Khaliq
- Stephen (ED/tech/nurse)
- Rebekah (Evening nurse, Inpatient stay)
As we recognize Doctor’s Day, we honor more than medical expertise. We honor the steady hands, the reassuring voices and the hearts that choose to serve. Their work heals. Their compassion strengthens our communities. Their example inspires generosity!
To every doctor across PeaceHealth: “We are truly, deeply grateful!”
