From routine emergency care to serious illness and trauma, our Level II Trauma Center meets the diverse needs of more than 85,000 patients treated in our Emergency Department each year.

In summer 2024, our newly expanded and remodeled Emergency Department opened for patient care. Our highly skilled care team provides care 24-hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days year for patients experiencing medical emergencies.

The new Emergency Department includes:

  • An updated entry with nearby parking.
  • Enhanced security with state-of-the-art screening technology.
  • Self-check-in kiosks for those able to check themselves in.
  • A layout and design that improves patient flow, reduces wait times and increases patient satisfaction.
  • Improved patient privacy with 30% more private rooms.

The upper floor of the expansion includes a 24-bed observation unit. This increase in space allows us to treat patients immediately upon arrival, eliminates hallway treatments and reduces waiting room stays.

In addition to the observation unit, the upper floor houses the Community Health Hub, a unique initiative that provides 24-hour, non-medical care to PeaceHealth Emergency Department patients experiencing behavioral health issues, addiction, homelessness, food insecurity and domestic violence.

The Community Health Hub is staffed by community partners that collaborate with the Emergency Department in delivering the right care, at the right time in the right place to the patients we serve.

Care options for non-life-threatening health care needs

At certain times of the day and times of the year, like flu season, wait times for those with less urgent health care needs may be longer than usual. If your health need does not require immediate care and is not life-threatening, please consider health options that might allow you to be cared for sooner.
