Joint Center Physical Therapy at the Hospital
You will begin physical therapy either the day of or day after your surgery at the Joint Replacement Center in the hospital before you go home.
Additional therapy may be needed after you return home as exercises designed to strengthen your knee or hip joint aid in the recovery process.
Group Physical Therapy After Discharge from the Hospital
If you prefer a group physical therapy experience where you can experience the camaraderie of others who have undergone the same surgery, PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center's Center for Rehabilitation offers the Joint Gym, a unique approach to group physical therapy. Patients benefit from continuity of care and the camaraderie shared by others recovering from similar joint replacement surgeries.
Individual Physical Therapy After Discharge from the Hospital
Some patients prefer private physical therapy. PeaceHealth's Center for Rehabilitation also offers individual one-on-one physical therapy sessions as do many other therapists in our community that are acquainted with our joint replacement program.
