Pauline Wooldridge

In loving memory of pauline woolridge

Pauline Wooldridge, born April 28th, 1922, to Michael and Pauline Birch, left us on December 8th, 2025.

She was the fourth-born of their eight children. Though born in Monroe, Michigan, she moved to Los Angeles, California as a single mother with her son, Robert, and two daughters, Kathryn and Ruth, at the age of thirty-three. There she met Edwin (Eddie) Wooldridge, whom she married in 1962. After the birth of sons Paul, in 1956, and John, in 1962, the family moved to Seattle, and subsequently to Ridgefield, and later, Camas, Washington, where she lived until Edwin’s death in 2010.

She moved to El Dorado Hills, California, to live with son Robert and daughter-in-law Maria in 2012, and, finally, to Vancouver, Washington, where she resided with Robert and Maria until the end.

Pauline was an avid card player, especially enjoying Euchre. Later she loved to play Scrabble and Yahtzee with family. She was a talented quilter and seamstress and painter using oil and acrylic mediums.

She was an adventurous traveler, crossing the country twice on US-66 from Chicago to Los Angeles and vice-versa, as well as numerous road trips with Eddie through the western United States and Canada. She liked to say her Mother often complained that Pauline “always had one foot out the door.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; her sons, Paul and John; and step-sons Don, Earl and Kyle Wooldridge. At the age of 103, all of Pauline’s siblings had preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Maria Almes, daughters Kathryn Alexander and Ruth Denier, son-in-law Jerry Denier, and daughters-in-law Gloria and Connie Wooldridge;  grandchildren, Kasey Almes, Amy Fambrini, Sharon Stevens, Julie Wanner, Jamie and Jennifer Alexander, Heather, Jeffrey, and Jordan Almes; six great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. There are also nieces and nephews and their families too numerous to count.

We want to thank the Hospice personnel who were so caring and helpful to Mom and us during her last few days. Interment will be private at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, Washington. We request that in lieu of flowers, you send a contribution to PeaceHealth Foundations.
