Ashok Venkataraman MD

Dr. Venkataraman is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute.

Dr. Venkataraman does many types of surgeries. These include heart bypass, valve repair and valve replacement. He also performs procedures for atrial fibrillation that few Oregon surgeons offer.

He prioritizes not only skilled care, but also clear communication and compassion. When possible, Dr. Venkataraman uses minimally invasive techniques. These procedures need only small incisions, so they are less painful and heal faster.

He is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. This means he meets high standards for care and keeps up with the latest advancements.

At PeaceHealth, Dr. Venkataraman created a program that helps heart patients go home sooner after surgery. He also serves on hospital committees that make surgery safer for all patients.

Outside of work, he enjoys golf, skiing, world travel and spending time with family.
