Natalie Volsky, MD, joined the PeaceHealth Medical Group – Sedro-Woolley team of providers in 2011. In life, we choose the battles we want to fight. Yet sadly, some people prefer not to fight at all. I am always impressed by people who choose the best possible fight – the fight for their health and the most noble competition: competition with themselves. These things define the true athlete; whether it’s an elite sportsman or an 80-year-old rehabilitating from a total-knee replacement. As an avid skier and mountain biker, yogi, former skydiver and competitive badminton player, it is easy for me to share such sentiments along with the urge to push yourself to the limit and strive for excellence. As a physician, it makes it easier to understand and relate to patients who share a similar mindset and who are highly motivated. This belief is why Sports Medicine is my true passion and why I chose a career in medicine. It is – and will remain – one of the most gratifying things I do in life.
