John Y. Sealander MD

Dr. J. Yates Sealander joins PeaceHealth Prince of Wales Clinic in Craig as a knowledgeable provider with more than 30 years of experience as a rural family physician. His passion is rural family medicine. Dr. Sealander practices ethical, evidence-based medicine. He seeks to be efficient and cost-effective for his patients. While he sees patients at all stages of life, he is always excited to see young patients. Dr. Sealander attended East Carolina/Brody School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at the same facility. He gained his early experience as an Army doctor for the 82nd Airborne of the U.S. Army. He served in Operation Desert Storm. Following his military service, Dr. Sealander and his family embarked on their first Alaska adventure where Dr. Sealander served as a family medical physician in Palmer, Alaska. Most recently, Dr. Sealander worked in a small family practice in Madison County, Virginia. An avid hunter and fisher, Dr. Sealander desired to return to Alaska ever since he departed Palmer more than 20 years ago. “Alaska has been in my blood,” said Dr. Sealander. “I’m so happy to be back here.”
