PeaceHealth Medical Group is pleased to introduce you to Xiaoxiao Li, MD, PhD.
Fluent in both Mandarin and English and proficient in medical Spanish, Dr. Li expands the dermatology practice to support many multi-lingual patients. Dr. Li came to PeaceHealth from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she spent three years working as a resident physician in the Department of Dermatology. Dr. Li interned at New York University as a resident physician of internal medicine. She received her doctorate and PhD in medicine from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. These degrees combined make her both a proficient practitioner and researcher.
Dr. Li excels in the treatment of medical dermatology, including complex medical dermatology, hair and nail disorders, and pediatric dermatological disorders. As a skilled researcher, Dr. Li has studied unique dermatologic conditions and how they relate to other medical conditions. Her work has been published in numerous peer reviewed journals for the benefit and learning of other providers.
In 2020, Dr. Li lead a three-person team to win second place in Hacking Dermatology/MIT Hacking Medicine competition. The Hackathon, held in Boston, Massachusetts, was focused on finding solutions for unique dermatologic challenges. Dr. Li's expertise in dermatology and treatment innovations has been recognized with numerous other awards and honors.
After the earthquake in Haiti in 2012, Dr. Li and a team of volunteers went on a humanitarian medical mission trip. She and her team treated over 1,000 Haitian patients and were able to set up a temporary pharmacy to serve immediate medical needs of the community.
