Prior to joining the PeaceHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) team in Bellingham, See-yin So, DO, FACOOG, completed her residency and then practiced professionally at Mercy Health Sylvania Obstetrics and Gynecology in Sylvania, Ohio. There, she developed a strong proficiency in high-risk obstetrics with midwife collaboration, and when necessary, performed minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. While at Mercy Health, Dr. So was the resident teaching staff for the OB-GYN team. She has special interests in reproductive healthcare, contraception and high-risk obstetrics.
Dr. So spent her undergraduate years at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where she received both a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and in ethnic studies. She received her medical degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. So has a demonstrated passion for serving the international community. She has traveled to Kampala, Uganda, and San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, to participate in humanitarian medical missions.
Dr. So treats patients from puberty to menopause and beyond and is well versed in all facets of obstetrics and gynecology. She shared, “I especially appreciate the opportunity to educate and empower my patients along the way."
When she isn't providing care, Dr. So spends her time with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys cooking, hiking and attending concerts and musicals.
