Scott G. Louis MD

Scott Louis, MD, is a board-certified cardiothoracic and general surgeon. He specializes in treating conditions of the heart and lungs.

Dr. Louis got his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Dr. Louis has been an active medical researcher throughout his career. He has authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed publications. These have included JAMA Surgery, the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and the American Journal of Surgery. Dr. Louis has also presented research at regional and national surgical conferences.

Dr. Louis has received several honors for his medical research. He received first-place recognition at the University of Kansas research forum. He has also won awards from the Oregon/Washington chapter of the American College of Surgeons and the Portland Surgical Society.

Dr. Louis is service-minded. He has volunteered in Roatan, Honduras and Houston, Texas where he assisted in the care of people who were unhoused.
