Marlene Dietrich, MD, completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and social relations at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude. She then spent a year at the University of Freiburg in Germany in a neurophysiology laboratory, before entering medical school at the University of Chicago. Subsequently, she completed a neurology residency at the University of Chicago, followed by a fellowship in electroencephalography at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. She then worked at the Gallatin Medical Clinic in Downey, California, for 10 years, during which time she was also an associate clinical professor of neurology at the University of Southern California Medical School.
Dr. Dietrich is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and neurophysiology by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. She is subspecialty boarded in sleep medicine and has been the medical director of the Sleep Clinic at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center since 2009.
Dr. Dietrich moved to Vancouver, Washington, in 1998 with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
