Marina C. Kovic, PA-C, MPAS, joined our Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team in October 2021.
Marina is no stranger to the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in applied human biology. Before attending school to become a physician assistant, Marina worked as a patient care technician at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, in the neurology department. There, Marina gained familiarity in clinical practices while igniting her passion for patient care. She went on to receive a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Marina’s vast rotation experience, including pediatrics, orthopedics and general surgery, provide her with a diversity of experience that makes her an asset to the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team.
Marina’s medical interests are obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy. Marina works collaboratively with patients to address the issues they face related to breathing and sleep, helping them find rest and healing.
According to Marina, her practice philosophy centers around "providing individualized care and solutions to each patient." She shared, "I believe that each person has a unique set of circumstances and experiences surrounding their medical condition.”
When not at work, Marina enjoys vegetable gardening, saltwater fishing in the Puget Sound, skiing on Mt. Bachelor and hiking with friends. Marina has also spent significant time volunteering at local food banks and women’s shelters.
