Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Kaepernick grew up on Bainbridge Island near Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in cell biology. Dr. Kaepernick went on to earn a master’s degree in medical genetics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Kaepernick met her husband, Jim, in Wisconsin. She worked in the Department of Pediatrics at Michigan State University School of Medicine as a pediatric/adult genetic counselor followed by three years as a prenatal genetic counselor in California.
Realizing that she really wanted to deliver babies, Dr. Kaepernick returned to the University of Wisconsin to earn her medical degree, graduating with honors and completing her residency in 2003. Dr. Kaepernick specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including outpatient hysterectomies.
She and her husband have two boys. She enjoys spending time with her family, which usually involves watching kids play sports. In her free time, Dr. Kaepernick enjoys knitting, sewing, skiing and spending time in our beautiful outdoors.
