Kate E. Blake NP

Kate Blake, DNP, is a nurse practitioner with PeaceHealth Gastroenterology in Bellingham.

Kate earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practioners.

As a student she completed clinical hours in multiple disciplines, including gastroenterology, family medicine, urgent care, palliative care and allergy,asthma and immunology.

Early in her medical career she worked as a pediatric critical care nurse, and also was an oncology nurse and teaching assistant in the University of Utah College of Nursing. She has been a medical volunteer in Mexico through LIGA International and the Refugee Health Alliance.

In her approach to care, Kate centers on building collaborative, respectful partnerships with patients. “I believe that effective care begins with listening—truly understanding each patient’s goals, concerns, and values,” she says. “I place strong emphasis on education and supporting sustainable lifestyle changes when appropriate, as I believe these are essential components of long-term health and wellness.”

Outside of work, Kate enjoys backpacking, cooking and spending time with her golden retriever.
