Dr. Joy Matthews is an OB/GYN whose interests include office gynecology, contraception, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, Vulvodynia, Vestibulitis, Obstetrics, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
As the daughter of an obstetrician, she grew up confident she wanted to be a doctor and certain she would "never" be an OB/Gyn. She stayed firm through three years of medical school before finally admitting it was "far and away the most fun specialty. The relationships I have with patients and the privilege of being involved and hopefully helpful during pivotal events in their lives is something I cherish."
Dr. Matthews is a self-declared "army brat" and counts among her favorite pastimes reading and helping friends and extended family as an unofficial medical consultant.
