Anna L. Dowling MD

Anna Dowling, MD, joined the PeaceHealth Medical Group Obstetric Hospitalists team of providers in June 2017. In Dec. 2018, she joined the PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center team of visiting specialists where she provides Women’s Health (gynecology) and surgical services in Friday Harbor, Washington.

Early formative experiences fueled Dr. Dowling’s desire to serve others through healing and health advocacy. After completion of her medical training, she practiced at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, before moving to Washington in 2011. Prior to joining PeaceHealth, Dr. Dowling practiced at Bellingham Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Dowling takes a holistic approach to the practice of medicine and believes our bodies have innate wisdom that – if nurtured – will provide well-being and longevity. She likes to blend natural remedies with Western medicine to create care plans that fit the unique situation of each woman she sees. She is an experienced surgeon with an interest in minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Dowling is conversant in Spanish. She and her husband, Matt, have three children. They love spending family time outdoors and enjoy hiking, biking, camping, paddle boarding and exploring our beautiful world.
