Biography
Nicholas Hamilton, MD, joined the pediatric surgery department at the RiverBend Pavilion in 2024.
He earned his doctor of medicine at the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center.
He completed his general surgical residency at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital and his pediatric surgical fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University, where he spent nearly a decade followed by a brief stint in Missoula, Mont. During that time, he developed a particular fondness for providing care to patients who prefer remote locations from larger cities but still need access to surgical care.
He describes his philosophy of care as a collaborative process with the parents/caregivers and the patient.
“My job is to earn their trust and then give them the tools needed to make the lives of their children as enjoyable as possible before and after the surgical procedure they need,” Hamilton said.
He is married and has two daughters along with a dog. When not at work, Hamilton enjoys hiking, watching his kids play sports, and fermenting/pickling different foods/beverages, especially kimchi and mead.
