Economic Impact
Ketchikan Borough’s largest employer
Our hospital and clinics employ nearly 500 caregivers, investing more than $193,000 every day.
In FY25, PeaceHealth made $87 million in improvements in Southeast Alaska.
Whether it's building new facilities or getting the latest medical equipment, PeaceHealth is dedicated to providing high-quality care for Ketchikan Gateway Borough residents.
Operating PeaceHealth in Southeast Alaska
It costs more than $104 million each year to run our hospital and clinics in Ketchikan Borough. Nearly 70% of this amount goes to our caregivers, including their salaries, benefits and payroll taxes — that’s more than $193,000 a day.
Increased Regional Access to Care
Critical access hospitals such as PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center play a vital role in delivering healthcare in rural regions. As part of a larger health system, we improve patient access by coordinating specialists from our system to deliver specialized services that would otherwise require lengthy travel for residents of Southeast Alaska. We are also able to run a primary care clinic on Prince of Wales Island, enhancing access to local healthcare.
