PeaceHealth St. Joseph surgeon appointed to American Board of Surgery’s Board of Directors

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center is proud to announce that Allison Robinson, MD, FACS, FASCRS, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
Dr. Robinson is an experienced colorectal surgeon who joined the PeaceHealth Medical Group General Surgery team of physicians in 2020. She is currently director at-large at ABS, which administers board certification for surgeons, ensuring excellence in surgical education and quality patient care nationwide, and has been in leadership at ABS for the past six years.
A retired captain in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Robinson has more than 25 years of military service and medical practice. Her specialties include treating inflammatory bowel disease, anal disease, rectal cancer and other related conditions. She is highly skilled with robotic-assisted surgery and utilizes this technology to best serve her patients.

Dr. Robinson’s three-year term began on July 1, and she looks forward to advocating for community surgeons. She splits her time between PeaceHealth facilities in Bellingham and Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, California.
“It is a privilege to represent community surgeons,” said Dr. Robinson. “I strive to add value to healthcare as a surgeon in my community and have maintained this commitment while serving on the ABS Council. I look forward to continuing to make meaningful contributions as a representative of community surgeons while on the ABS Board of Directors.”
