Honoring Amber Asbjornsen: A visionary in philanthropy

| Philanthropy

Amber Asbjornsen

At PeaceHealth, our greatest strength is the people who bring our Mission to life — caregivers whose compassion, leadership and vision shape the future of care. This year, that commitment is once again being recognized on a national stage.

Amber Asbjornsen, Chief Philanthropy Officer for PeaceHealth’s Northwest Network, has been named one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Washington for 2025 by Women We Admire

This honor celebrates women whose influence extends well beyond their organizations, shaping communities and industries with courage and purpose. Amber embodies this distinction through her resounding dedication to connecting the compassion of donors with the needs of patients and caregivers.

A leader rooted in trust and vision

Over her 20-year career in philanthropy, Amber has built relationships anchored in authenticity and possibility. She leads with vision, yet always with the humility to listen first. Under her guidance, PeaceHealth’s Northwest philanthropy team has expanded its reach and impact — inspiring investments that strengthen patient care, fuel innovation and uplift caregivers across the region.

Her colleagues often note that Amber empowers those around her to lead boldly. By cultivating trust and collaboration, she ensures that philanthropy at PeaceHealth is not just about raising funds but about creating meaningful change in people’s lives.

Part of a larger story

Amber’s recognition follows the recent honor given to Carl Bell, Director of Philanthropy at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart, who was named to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s 40 Under 40. Together, these accolades shine a light on what makes PeaceHealth special: a community of leaders — caregivers, donors and partners — whose values guide their work and whose vision brings hope to countless lives.

Lighting the way forward

When asked how she felt about this remarkable achievement, Amber shared, “I’m deeply honored and humbled by this recognition. I’m especially grateful for the many strong women in leadership who have inspired me to grow, challenge myself, and step beyond my comfort zone.”

Amber’s recognition is a reflection not only of her personal achievements, but of the collective strength of PeaceHealth’s philanthropy teams and the Mission that unites us. Through her leadership, donor generosity is transformed into possibility — advancing care, supporting caregivers and bringing comfort and healing to patients and families.

Congratulations, Amber. Your example inspires us, your leadership strengthens us and your recognition affirms what we already know: at PeaceHealth, philanthropy is about more than generosity. It is about values in action.
