Dr. Karanam is a heart rhythm specialist. He serves as director of the electrophysiology program at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute. He uses advanced techniques to care for patients with conditions like atrial fibrillation. At PeaceHealth, he focuses on the least invasive ways to restore heart rhythms. These procedures use small tools and tiny cuts, helping patients recover faster with less pain. Dr. Karanam's expertise includes catheter ablation, conduction system pacing and Watchman procedures. He also specializes in safely placing and removing heart rhythm devices. He is board certified in heart care and heart rhythm disorders. This shows that he meets high standards and stays up to date on the latest treatment. Dr. Karanam trained at top medical centers such as the University of Missouri and the Lahey Clinic. He then went on to create specialized heart rhythm programs at hospitals in Indiana and Kentucky. His research focuses on innovative ways to treat complex heart rhythm conditions. He leads several clinical trials, testing devices and methods to help future patients. Outside of the hospital, he is a private pilot and loves flying his Cirrus.
