Paul S. Koh MD

Dr. Koh received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago in 1994. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, then completed a fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery at Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre at Dalhousie University Medical School in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He completed a second fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota just prior to joining the Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute in Eugene. Dr. Koh has done molecular and cellular research on apoptosis and disordered signaling associated with HIV and congenital aplasia at Oregon Cancer Center and neurosciences honors research at Northwestern University. He has presented and published extensively on topics related to assessing the cervical esophagus and cervical esophagogastrostomy. Dr. Koh’s specialty interests include minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, adult cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices, thoracic transplantation and general thoracic surgery.
