Dr. Koh is a cardiac surgeon at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute. He leads three programs at PeaceHealth: heart surgery, thoracic (chest) surgery and the structural heart program. Dr. Koh specializes in adult cardiac surgery. He also performs minimally invasive thoracic procedures and robotic thoracic surgery. These techniques use smaller cuts and robotic tools, which means less pain and quicker recovery. He has cared for patients in Oregon since 2005. His approach combines expert surgery with compassionate, personalized care. He sees each patient as a whole person, not just someone with a heart condition. Dr. Koh graduated with distinction from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He also trained at top medical centers in the U.S. and Canada, including Oregon Health & Science University and the University of Minnesota. His research has helped make heart surgery safer and recovery faster for patients. He also teaches medical students and other surgeons how to provide outstanding heart care. Outside of work, Dr. Koh enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He also likes to hike, ski and SCUBA dive.
