Neal Shaffer, PA-C, is a physician assistant with experience in family medicine and emergency care. Neal has treated everything from common illnesses like the flu to emergency injuries at remote campsites.

Neal started his medical career as a wilderness emergency medical technician (EMT) in Leavenworth, WA. He is an adventurous hiker and camper. Neal enjoys teaching people how to handle emergencies in rugged natural areas. So, he became a senior instructor in field medicine.

“I am fascinated by medicine, and I want to share my knowledge and experience with others,” he shared.

He also added wildland fire search and rescue and expeditionary healthcare to his toolkit.

Neal earned a bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology from Western Washington University with a minor in Biochemistry. He completed his PA training at Red Rocks Community College in Arvada, CO.

In his free time, Neal is passionate about getting “off-grid” in Washington’s outdoors. “I love backpacking, hiking and fly-fishing at high Alpine lakes in the North Cascades,” he shared.
