Louis Stryker, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon. He is fellowship trained in hip and knee replacement. He is one of only two fellowship trained physicians in this specialty in the State of Alaska. Dr. Stryker went to medical school at the University of Texas in Houston. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He went on to complete a fellowship in adult reconstruction at The OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Stryker is a leader in his field. He has been an invited speaker at regional and national conferences. He has published scientific papers and book chapters in orthopedic medicine. Dr. Stryker is also a patient-first clinician. He shared, “I strive to educate every patient on their individual condition, make them aware of all available treatment options and tailor care based on their desires, intervening as much as we need to, but as little as we have to, to preserve function and quality of life.” When he’s not working, Dr. Stryker enjoys being outside. He likes hunting, fishing and running on trails with his dog.
