Jorge O. Gomez, MD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist in Bellingham, Washington. He specializes in treating complex heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias. He also focuses on preventing sudden cardiac death through device therapy and ablation.

He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He completed his internal medicine residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois; followed by cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at the University of Illinois at Peoria and Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He also holds a master’s degree in clinical research from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Gomez has presented research at national conferences such as the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He is fluent in Spanish and French and has volunteered providing cardiac care in underserved communities.

He believes in listening closely to patients and building care plans that match their goals. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his family.
