James Reiss, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and clinical cardiac electrophysiologist. His clinical interests include treating heart rhythm disturbances. He was one of the first in the region to perform Arctic Front Cryoablation Therapy which treats Atrial Fibrillation. Dr. Reiss earned his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington where he also completed his residency in internal medicine. This was followed by advanced training in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. "My focus is to provide safe, effective treatment of heart rhythm disturbances, and my number one goal is patient safety. I am very proud of our ability to provide complex, high level cardiovascular care at PeaceHealth Southwest.” His personal interests include travel, classical music and the arts. He is fluent in Russian, traveling and volunteering in St. Petersburg, Russia every year.
