Dr. Hope Richards joined the Bellingham PeaceHealth OB-GYN team in 2024.

“My role is to walk alongside patients in their health journey,” she says about her practice philosophy. “I prioritize patient centered care and evidence-based medicine. I enjoy developing relationships with patients through the many stages in life that can involve an OB-GYN.”

Dr. Richards earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., and Master of Health Administration from University of Washington School of Health Sciences. She completed residency in OB-GYN at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City in 2020. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She worked in Wyoming prior to joining PeaceHealth.

Dr. Richards is a skilled surgeon offering minimally invasive options including hysterectomy, tubal ligation, and management of fibroids, polyps, and ovarian masses. She operates on the robotic platform, performs laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy. She offers comprehensive care as an integrative, lifelong approach to women’s health inclusive to complex obstetrical and gender affirming care.

Outside of work, Dr. Richards spends her time parenting her children, dogs, and houseplants. She loves running, yoga, and is joyfully and enthusiastically learning the piano.
