Dr. Kang is a cardiologist with a focus on advanced heart imaging. She uses less invasive methods whenever possible to find and treat heart conditions. Dr. Kang is board certified in five areas of heart care and internal medicine. This shows she meets high standards and stays up to date on the newest techniques. Her skills include echocardiography (heart ultrasound), nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT and cardiac MRIs. Clear communication is important to Dr. Kang as she has worked as a medical interpreter in the past. This background helps her explain complicated medical information in an accessible way. Dr. Kang earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She has advanced training from two top heart programs: the University of Michigan and the University of Southern California. She spent an extra year training specifically in cardiac CTs and MRIs at OHSU. Her research focuses on new heart imaging methods, patient safety and women’s heart care. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities with her family and catching up on latest thrillers.
