Claire Chavez, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with training in trauma and critical care surgery. Dr. Chavez cares for patients with life-threatening injuries. She also treats patients with critical illnesses such as heart attacks or cancer.

Dr. Chavez earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon. She completed her medical degree at Michigan State University. She completed a surgical fellowship at University of California – Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Chavez enjoys sharing her knowledge. She teaches surgery and urgent care to other physicians and medical students. She has served as a clinical assistant professor in both Washington and California.

Dr. Chavez has traveled to Costa Rica, Guatemala, India and Peru to teach healthcare. She has also helped children with severe burns and cleft palates. She is passionate about providing compassionate care for everyone.

“Patients and families deserve to understand their care. They should feel supported during stressful medical situations,” she said.

Dr. Chavez speaks conversational Spanish. In her free time, she likes to run, play piano and snowboard.
